Pottery Cacao Cups are hand made by me, by throwing the clay on a potter's wheel and forming into cup shapes, allowing the pieces to dry, then bisque firing, glazing, and then firing to a higher temperature to melt the glazes and vitrify the clay.
This pair of matching usuable cacao cups was created using this 3-4 week process that can't be rushed for the risk of cracking or breakage in the kiln. The clay is fired to cone 5-6. The bisque cups were glazed in creamy white, soft green, and smokey gray. The glazes overlapped creating a misty effect. The cups measure 3.75" wide x 2.25 " tall.
While they are dishwasher and microwave safe, I recommend gentler care, like hand washing with mild dish soap.
A cacao cup is usually a low open bowl shaped cup without a handle so it can be used with two hands, like a tea bowl.
Inspiration came from a Virginia City customer who requested Cacao Cups for herself. I researched the product and found it to be popular with ceremonial cacao events as well as personal use.

Care instructions
All beaded jewelry can be carefully hand wiped with a damp cloth. Please do not rinse under water or the thread will shrink and the jewelry will change shape and become tight.
All clay buttons are hand washable only.
